Coral Simanovich: The delicacy is in the details

Coral Simanovich proves to be an ambassador of the comfortable style, the attention to detail and the uncomplicated sensuality.

With a nomadic soul and as a full time traveler, Coral Simanovich’s most eclectic side draws from her international roots. Born in New York, of Israeli nationality and currently living in Barcelona, the model, influencer and Design graduate by the University of Ramat Gan (Tel Aviv) describes herself as a loyal street style advocate. With the premise of comfort as the starting point, when it comes to choosing a look Coral is carried along by her mood of the moment. “My style sometimes is tomboy-inspired, sometimes is more high fashion… but normally is very casual. I love to wear sneakers, long skirts, oversized clothes…”, she states.

Although she likes to innovate and discover American, Spanish and Israeli brands and designs, in her closet there are always three staple pieces: a white tshirt, a pair of jeans and a black leather jacket. “The white tshirt goes with any style and I think it’s a must in every closet –she explains–. Jeans are my favorite piece, I have like 100! And the leather jacket is something that’s always nice, whether you go to the gym or to dinner or an event , it always works”.

“A good choice of lingerie always makes you feel pretty”.

CORAL SIMANOVICH

“Fashion is like art, each person looks at it with different eyes. There’s art that people hate and others love, and with fashion it’s the same”.

Between trips Coral finds her peaceful haven in Marrakech. The traditional ceramics, the carpets and the craftmanship are what inspires her the most from the Red City. The Moroccan architecture, one of her favorites, witnesses the most intimate side of her style. Always combining comfort and romanticism, lingerie is a key factor in order for Coral to feel good. “If you open up my lingerie drawer, you’ll see all types of colors and textures, I like to invest in my lingerie collection and renew it. I normally like to wear color matching sets”, she declares. “A good choice of lingerie always makes you feel pretty, so I think it’s very important”.

The dreamlike corners of the Dar El Sadaka Villa foster a parade of lace and light fabrics that transport Coral to a magical place that only the most delicate lingerie achieves. Without fear of innovation in terms of fabrics and chromatic range and paired with thin white blouses, burgundy matching sets combine lace and striped velvet while entirely laced pieces choose bright colors like sky blue. In a more classic style, an unstructured nude top finds in a burgundy kimono set its best ally for those zen moments. And at night? Her safe bet are high heels -which she thinks transform any look to immediately make it cool-, and a black lace body worn under a dress, a mini skirt or cool pants for a sexy touch.

When she’s in Barcelona, her switch-off time includes trying new restaurants with her family and her husband, the FC Barcelona football player Sergi Roberto, and walks with her dog Baloo. Halfway between being a hobby and part of her job is physical training. Coral finds the perfect formula to stay in shape in her post-workout energy and her method of trying all kinds of food but not too much quantity.

With such an international spirit like hers, Coral admits that in Spain she feels at home. In terms of fashion she thinks Spanish people go for a casual, more day-to-day style, and that’s exactly what reminds her of Israel. “In Spain, for example, you can see that people don’t go to work wearing a suit, but if you go to London or Paris that just doesn’t make sense”, she points out. “In Israel is common to go to work wearing a tshirt and jeans instead of a suit, so in that way they’re similar and I like it because people feel comfortable when they wake up and don’t have to put a ‘costume’ on every day”.

To the question ‘What would you never wear?’ the model opts for the ‘never say never’ mantra and strongly answers: “There’s nothing that I can now say I wouldn’t wear because maybe you’ll see me wearing it in the future”. Coral thinks of herself as someone who only jumps in the trends train if she loves them and also if they look good on her because for her fashion is, above all, a subjective matter. “Fashion is like art, each person looks at it with different eyes. There’s art that people hate and others love, and with fashion it’s the same. That’s why I try to avoid saying something is ‘ugly’ and instead I just say ‘it’s just not my style’ “.
